1992
BEGINNINGS
The story of Cruise begins with the story of one man fascinated by sheet metal engineering and other with air cooling technology. Taking things apart, assembling components to complete the air-conditioning cycle and dreaming of the day when they establish their own mass production facility. In 1992, Mr. Paras Sirohia established a trading company and subsequently a manufacturing plant was built in Palghar, Maharashtra.
1993
THE EARLY YEARS
The first prototype and subsequent product launched was a window air conditioner in 0.75 and 1 Ton cooling capacities. This was followed immediately by a robust slim Split Air-conditioner - a concept new to the Indian sub-continent then. At the heart of these new product developmemts was someone who understood the nuances of comfort cooling - Mr. S. K. Mishra, the founding director of Cruise. With success imminent, branding was a question that needed answering. Instead of using a single brand name, multiple variants under the names 'Hippo', 'Midget', and 'Pacific' were launched. Brand Cruise came into existence subsequently, when a family member suggested the name 'Cruise' - the feeling she had after switching on the their new air conditioner!
1995
DUAL COMFORT CONDITIONING
Air conditioning is the process of removing heat and moisture from the interior of an occupied space, to improve the comfort of occupants. This is the very foundation of how Cruise creates its cooling solutions. The team realised that other air conditioners had specs that only measured how they achieved cooling capacity, not how people expected the speed at which air was being delivered. This idea gave birth to the innovative, India's first Dual-Throw window conditoner with two air vents on either side of the Unit - the 'Dinosaur'
2005
MOBILE COOLING FOR THE STARS
After years of product development and manufacturing for global Indian and Japanese brands, a desire was born to introduce a new form of cooling device. Mumbai is the centre of mainstream Indian cinema. Cruise was given a unique problem to solve - to design a portable air conditioner so as to comfort filmstars who consistently required cool environments when shooting outdoors especially on hot, sunny days. This inspired Cruise to introduce its first portable air conditioner with wheels. A roaring success, this innovative AC was used extensively by leading filmstars and became indispensible to them!

With single-minded focus on innovation and providing global technology for the dynamic lifestyles of today's youth, Cruise modernized its brand identity to reflect this change. It also introduced 2 unique cooling products - a 5-in-1 VarioQool split air conditioner, which can perform five unique functions in one beautifully design form, as well as a 5-in-1 PortaQool movable air conditioner for those who live the demanding lifestyle.
